A must Read...Julie's Cooking Philosophies and Point of View

Julie’s Cooking Philosophies

As I was growing up in the 20th Century in Southern California, as a girl…being called Domestic was like a dirty word.

Because of this I see so many young women now, my age in their twenties, and even thirties, not knowing how to do anything remotely associated with that “nasty” word. Yes we graduated from Law School, we run marathons, we support all types of noteworthy causes, we can lead an army or run a company for that matter... and we are sharp as a tack, but put us into the kitchen or home and we feel as if we are lost without a map in the middle of a jungle (to put it lightly)!

The women of my generation do not understand how sexy it is to have some domestic tricks hiding underneath their long corporate pencil skirts…I am here to show them how. Cooking, cleaning and sowing should be added to the repertoire…not so that we can turn into Desperate House Wives…but so that we can be the ultimate women of the future…willing and able to do all things…the Renaissance Women of the 21st Century!

An added bonus for all those singletons out there is that Men love women that can cook and vise versa.
I also feel quite comfortable saying that we all love to get together with friends and family.
Being able to put together quick and fabulous meals not only allows you a more balanced life style, but also enables one to impress as well as entertain.

Do we eat to live or do we live to eat?

If you live to eat, not just eat, but enjoy healthy, flavorful food, then you are in the right place.

I would venture to say that cooking is not just a means of feeding one’s self, but more of an art form. To cook something delightful that warms your belly and fills your body with satisfaction is more than just feeding. Your kitchen should be seen not as an unknown jungle, but as an empty canvas, just waiting for you to paint your next masterpiece in it.

Cooking allows all to put on their creative cap and get to work. There are no limits in the kitchen, no rules, only guide lines that can be moved with just a whim if you wish. The Kitchen is a play ground for the open-minded and mysterious! Unlock the magic of your very own kitchen.

On top of all of this every woman that I know wants to loose five pounds. I want to let them know how... without having to change their entire life style. I recommend this…you do not have to eat flavor-less and boring food or nothing at all to loose your dreaded five pounds…all you have to do is to learn to and incorporate this word into your life…MODERATION.

First and foremost do not forget all of your favorite foods, just eat less of them. And get rid of a few things in your diet that you know are dangerous to your waist and then you’ll be fine

My cooking philosophy is to eat what you love, cook with creativity and passion and make sure that flavor surrounds each and every bite of food (if it doesn’t taste good it’s certainly not worth the calories)!
Just be sure to eat your favorite foods and flavor packed delights in MODERATION and make your every day portion size a healthy one…not too small, but certainly not too big.

This will help us to have a Balanced Life!!!

Eating fresh, vibrant, colorful and seasonal food will increase life satisfaction.

And presentation is Key!!!
Ladies make it look Good!!!

Think about that new outfit you just bought from the Victoria Secret Magazine…did they just have it rolled up in a ball on the floor all wrinkled and dusty? No they put in onto a beautiful model and made it look so good you just had to have it!

And that is what we must do with our food. We all eat with our eyes first…so make it look amazing and before your guests even take their first bite, they will be telling you what a fabulous cook you are!! They will not be able to figure out how you seem to be able to DO IT ALL!

This is not just a call to the women of my generation, it is a call to all those who are tired of take out and want to make their kitchen a creative camp ground rather than an un-used space where the microwave gets more action than the oven.
